Building a buzz for the movie.
If you go to the site, explore all the pages and even the electronic press kit and you are interested in the movie and want to see it you can really help get it up onto the screen. We have no stars, just a great film, and now we're out to serious festivals. They need to see that you are interested ... So here's how you can help.
The trick is to go onto film society blogs, and other film blogs etc. and talk about this original movie that's just been made. It's seeking distribution. It's an interesting subject that you want to see. Guide them to the website.www.yourgoodfriendmovie.com ... Matthew's directors statement about religion and sex and even some of the rabbi's stuff in the EPK (electronic press kit) on the site about how religion is like porn is good sensational stuff. They can't really do this themselves. Putting a thirst out there for the movie means that when festivals google it, which they do, they get lots of links about the anticipation for the movie. Interest in it etc. If you can get a journalist to actually write about it, using press kit, or interviews all the better. Always stress that it is unreleased in some way. Most of the festivals that are looking at it only will take it if it is a premiere. Even if you only do a bit of this it will be an enormous help. Thanks.
