Happy Valentines 02/14/2012
This make me laugh so much every time I see it. I've decided laughter is where romance begins for me. Add Comment Pina 02/11/2012
Quite simply the best use of 3D I've seen so far ... A few days before Wim Wenders was due to start shooting a film about her she died. Of course the film was cancelled at first. Then her dancers came together with Wenders to make this wonderful tribute to her. It's easily one of my favorite films so far this year. The end of The Romantic Comedy ... ? 02/11/2012
I doubt it. Here's an interesting article that was in The Guardian. The trick is going to be how to re-invent the genre in a way that speaks to an even bigger audience. That's always the challenge as far as I can see.. Definitely worth a read! 01/29/2012
Billy Wilder, one of the best of the best. A very interesting interview with him here in The Paris Review. The old Warhorse returns ... 01/02/2012
Just watched Warhorse here. I have to say that I was really swept away. Amazingly retro, totally unfashionable, ridiculously sentimental, and gloriously unrealistic! But any film that portrays what seems to be Dartmoor as if we're watching Gone With The Wind - even down to the fiery red sky, everything backlit, over-scored, with a horse and a boy and soldiers returning from a long war ... Well screw it! I'm manipulated and loving every minute of it.. I suspect only Spielberg could get away with this. Joy! WGA nominations 01/01/2012
I just voted on the WGA screenplay nominations. Original screenplay - Descendants, Midnight in Paris, Young Adult, Tree of Life, and Win Win. Adapted screenplay - Hugo and Moneyball, none of the other adaptations really felt that great, which is a shame. ... But remember, only WGA and affiliated union scripts were eligible so there seemed to be very little to chose from. HUGO 11/26/2011
It's a long time since I have been so transported, impressed and inspired by a film. There are so many things I love about everyone's work here that I simply don't know where to begin. Except to say that in my humble opinion, it really is a masterpiece. See it as soon as you can! Building the internet presence of our small movie. Here's the new website: www.yourgoodfriendmovie.com and here's the new trailer. Share if you want to and enjoy! Mozart\'s Sister 10/18/2011
Saw this last night. Beautifully structured, cast, shot and refreshing. This trailer doesn't do it justice, but if you get a chance to see it. Please go! And tell us what you think here ... Earthly Delights 08/08/2011
I was on my way back from working in Granada last week and stopped in Madrid and went to the Prado Museum in Madrid. Ended up standing in front of Bosch's The Garden Of Earthly Delights. This is a simply epic painting, more entertaining than most movies and one of the most inspiring pieces I've looked at in a long time. What was the last painting that did this for you? Finally left the gallery when they chucked us all out and my eyes were opened and I simply couldn't stop taking photos nearby ... | MJBlogWeekly blog with Archives
